Marine electric vehicle technology leader Voltari has launched its latest innovation, the Patrol 26 RIB, an all-electric patrol boat designed for military, government, and security operations. The vessel is a major breakthrough in marine technology, offering high performance, zero emissions, and significantly reduced operational costs.

According to Interesting Engineering, the Patrol 26 RIB is powered by a 740-horsepower electric drivetrain, delivering impressive performance with a top speed exceeding 88 km/h and a cruising range of up to 160 kilometers at idle or 48 kilometers at a 40 km/h cruise speed. Its lightweight carbon fiber hull and deep-V oceangoing design ensure exceptional maneuverability and stability, outperforming traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) boats in key areas such as acceleration and hole shot. Notably, the boat features a fully electric powertrain, providing silent operation with no emissions—an ideal feature for stealth missions and environmentally conscious operations.

This electric vessel is built to withstand tough maritime conditions, with military-grade specifications making it suitable for saltwater environments and rough waters. It is equipped with advanced technologies like shock suspension seating for crew comfort during demanding missions, and a fixed-mount FLIR thermal night vision camera for improves situational awareness in low-light conditions.

The Patrol 26 RIB is also designed with practical features. It includes secure dry storage areas near the helm for weapons and equipment, and its front-mounted rear jockey seats can be folded to maximize space for personnel movement. The Patrol 26 Pilot variant also offers climate control and can accommodate up to four passengers.

According to Interesting Engineering, Voltari has already garnered interest from defense sectors, with the US Navy testing the boat for security applications in San Diego. The company has also delivered units to the Canadian Coast Guard for further trials.

In addition to its performance, the Patrol 26 RIB offers significant cost savings. Voltari estimates that the electric boat could save up to $1 million in maintenance costs over ten years compared to its counterparts.

With the Patrol 26 RIB, Voltari is setting a new standard for electric patrol boats, offering a sustainable, high-performance alternative to traditional marine vessels for security and defense operations.
