The SandCat armored vehicle equipped with an advanced mission management system (MSIS) will serve as a special intervention vehicle. Equipped with the mission management system, the SandCat armored vehicle can receive real-time information and data from airborne sensors, allowing commanders to more effectively oversee and manage the ground missions.

SandCat family of 4X4 armored vehicles, manufactured by Israeli company Plasan Sasa, provides high-end protection, while maintaining its maneuverability and agility even when equipped with surveillance and communications systems.

The SandCat family has been designed to support a wide range of challenges and missions including law enforcement, Special Forces, homeland security, border patrol and armed conflicts. SandCats are also used to transport troops, as a command and control centers, and to transport VIPs though conflict zones. More than 600 SandCat’s are used on every type of mission, on all types of terrain around the globe.

The advanced Multi-Sensor Integration System (MSIS) developed by BIRD Aerosystems manages the complete mission profile and ensures that all operating teams share a unified, real-time situational awareness. The MSIS is an integral part of the company’s Airborne Surveillance, Intelligence and Observation (ASIO) solution.

The system provides a complete Task Force solution which enables to collect and process large amounts of information gathered from the airborne platforms and that is automatically classified and efficiently displayed. The information is then shared in real–time with the ground segments of the Task-Force such as the C&C center and ground intervention vehicles and enables all operating teams to share a unified situational awareness picture.

The installation of the MSIS on the vehicle will extend its operational capabilities, enable it to participate in Task Force Ground Missions requiring close coordination with airborne surveillance platforms, and allow it to exchange real-time mission-critical information, according to the companies’ announcement.

Plasan Sasa Plasan designs, develops, manufactures and integrates comprehensive vehicle protection systems. Bird specializes in Airborne Missile Protection Systems (AMPS) and Airborne Surveillance, Information and Observation (ASIO) solutions.
