We are pleased to announce the launch of the fifth cycle of the INNOFENSE Innovation Center. The six selected projects were selected among hundreds of start-up companies that have applied for the INNOFENSE Program, and are expected to promote innovation in the security sector.

The Innovation Center, operated by iHLS in cooperation with The Directorate of Defense, Research & Development (MAF’AT), is a leading innovation program for dual-use technology projects in the civilian and security sectors. It provides a platform for joint projects with the Ministry of Defense and the various forces and branches of the IDF.

The aim of the program is to strengthen the connection between the civilian market and the security market through joint development of technology, thereby promoting and improving their assimilation in both markets.

This year, the INNOFENSE program takes place during the Swords of Iron War and provides solutions for needs raised in the wake of it.

The cycle was launched during an opening event that took place on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, and included representatives from each start-up, as well as project officers who accompanied them from each corps.

Meet the six projects that will take part in the fifth cycle of the iHLS INNOFENSE Innovation Center:

Green Diesel:
Green Diesel, led by CEO Arkady Fidelman, has two developments. The first is a biodiesel produced through a sustainable biological process. The second is an advanced detection system, designed to be mounted on drones for ground scanning. The system can detect the presence, location, and type of material.

DagsHub:
DagsHub, led by CEO Dean Pleban, is a platform that enables AI research and development teams to manage, organize, and accelerate development processes of unstructured data-based models such as images, documents, and audio. The platform is based on open-source technologies and provides solutions for information management, tagging, test tracking, and model registration – all in one place. The system enables technical teams to streamline the development process through close integrations with familiar tools such as MLFlow and Label Studio, and supports innovative strategies such as Active Learning and Auto Labeling.

IVERSE:
IVERSE, led by CEO Shira Spetter, has developed a first-of-its-kind AI system that serves as an “occupational psychologist” for analyzing video interviews. The system detects cognitive, executive and interpersonal capabilities, as well as organizational fit, and produces an accurate recommendation report, matching candidates to specific positions. Based on thousands of interviews conducted by occupational psychologists, the system improves the efficiency and quality of recruitment processes in various sectors.

Pawsitive Technology:
Pawsitive Technology, led by CEO Anat Assaf, has developed a machine learning-based system that provides an objective analysis of anxiety levels, selective attention and the activeness of military and civilian working dogs. The system is designed to assess, monitor, and predict the dog’s ability to adapt to different professions, assess its performance, and ensure the well-being of dogs.

Starbird AI:
StarbirdAI, led by CEO Udi Hakim, develops GPS-free navigation solutions that allow autonomous vehicles across the air, sea and land to cope with the increasingly common challenge of GPS jamming. The company’s StarPod product detects various non-GPS electromagnetic signals, and leverages advanced AI and sensor fusion models to accurately determine the location of the vehicle in any area or environmental condition.

Vigor Medical:

Vigor Medical, led by CEO Irina Kavounovski, has developed an AI-based application that detects injuries in the chest and abdomen using a mobile ultrasound device and a digital stethoscope. The application will enable diagnosis and treatment, especially for less experienced medical practitioners on the battlefield and in emergency medicine scenarios. It conducts real-time cloud-independent examination with a dedicated widget, and can also serve as a platform for telemedicine for remote professional advice.

IHLS congratulates all the selected startups.
