School safety is extremely imperative nowadays, considering the amount of school shootings that have occurred in the United States, killing and ruining many young lives. One of the most horrible school shootings was the one that took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012 where 26 people died. 20 of the people who died from the attack were first-grade students who had their whole lives ahead of them. Unfortunately, school safety has not improved much in the United States since then, taking into account the amount of school shootings that have occurred after that incident.

New automation has recently been developed that gives schools access to uniting school safety technologies from Rave Panic Button, according to businesswire.com. The new app was developed by Rave Mobile Safety, which is a provider of emergency and public safety solutions.

It is important for all schools to stay connected with each other to help assist in response to a potential emergency. Cross-platform communication should help ensure the safety of students and teachers at school. If schools get improved communication systems between each other, then more personnel can be notified assuring for a quicker response.

The Rave Panic Button creates a collaborative platform that allows for connections to access video, control, electronic signage, and mass communication. Not only does the technology enhance interoperability between school systems, but it also directly alerts first responders. It is important for first responders to be advised as soon as possible to make for a swift and quick response. If the process of alerting 9-1-1 and other schools is expedited, then school safety can be significantly increased.

How does it work? In case of emergency, an organization member can activate the app system by pushing one of the five emergency button types. The app immediately dials 9-1-1, while simultaneously sending notifications to people on-site of the incident.

It delivers critical response data such as detailed caller location, floor plans, emergency exit locations, emergency contacts, and key procedures to 9-1-1 dispatchers and first responders, giving them tools to coordinate a faster and more effective response.

It can instantly activate emergency systems like digital signage, mass notification and access control, intercoms and more, according to the company website.
