Drones at Gaza Border – Imminent Threat

A drone that had infiltrated into Israel from the Gaza Strip was identified and shot down by the IDF today, July 8, 2019. The drone was taken for examination, according to IDF Spokesperson. There were no details regarding the measures used by the IDF for intercepting the drone. Two suspicious drones were spotted earlier near Zikim, according to ynet.co.il.
Intensive efforts are being made in Israel and globally in an attempt to develop innovative counter-UAV measures, due to the increasing use of these unmanned systems by terrorist, criminals, and at the battlefield.
