Unexpected Solutions Were Showcased at Video Analytics Conference

As every year, the fifth Video Analytics Conference and Exhibition organized by iHLS have gathered the leading experts, developers, entrepreneurs and manufacturers from the professional community in this advanced technological field.

 

During today’s conference and exhibition, the participants learned about the latest developments in video analytics in the military and civilian spheres.

Among the speakers at the impressive conference, narrated by Col. (res.) Arik Davidi, was Maj. Roni Dadon, Head of Video Department, IDF, who referred to the switch to web-based video in the IDF and elaborated on the challenges of transforming information into knowledge accessible to users in real-time. He explained how data extraction and video intelligence support operational processes of firepower, command and control, intelligence gathering and research improvement.

IBM representative Daniel Rotman elaborated on the multimodal aspects of video analytics. Lee Cauchie from Dell EMC presented the company’s solutions for monitoring, networking, surveillance virtualization, data security and more for a wide array of fields – from fraud protection, personal security, counter-terrorism, reconnaissance, to workplace injury reduction, etc.

The important role of Artificial Intelligence in the current evolution of video analytics was discussed by several speakers, including Roman Roxer from Avigilon, who presented the company’s self-learning analytics tools and search solutions, and Michael Zolotov from Axon, who spoke about the company’s AI-based OLYMPUS system. Their video analytics tools for Smart Cities include traffic enforcement, toll road management, smart vehicle and parking monitoring and more, as well as security and access control.

Agent vi’s analytics solutions are also based on Artificial Intelligence and deep learning tools, as was presented by Ariel Frischoff.

 

The aspect of security was also discussed by Shmuel Ben Uzi from Ledico, who spoke about the various information security solutions against the growing cyber threats, and by Albert Tabet from IDEMIA (Morpho) who elaborated on the European experience in public security from the point of view of video analytics.

Menashe Rothschild from Viisights spoke about the advantages of machine learning but also pointed out at the challenges, e.g. the expensive training and the significant GPU power required.
