A new portable explosive detection technology has been recently revealed. The SEEKERe EDK (Explosive Detection Kit) is an explosive trace detector that’s capable of sensing bulk and trace explosives, from pipe bombs to IEDs.

In addition to the SEEKERe EDK, the company offers a line of disposable explosive detection pouches to make explosive detection even more affordable. The MobileDetect Pouches can be used by anyone to swab substances or surfaces and detect traces of explosive material.
These pouches use a three-step system designed to keep the potentially hazardous material contained while testing to be sure of what it is. Once you swab the surface, you insert the swab into the pouch and crush it, releasing the detection chemical. The swab will then change color depending on the substances present.
