New Patrol Boats to Defend Nigerian Facilities

International Damen Shipyards has delivered an FCS 3307 Patrol boat to Nigerian operator Homeland Integrated Offshore Services Limited (HIOSL) that it will use for maritime security and utility operations.

Damen said the vessel, to be named Guardian 1, will set sail to Port Harcourt, Nigeria, in the coming weeks. It recently completed sea trials in the Netherlands. Damen is arranging the delivery and commissioning of the vessel, as well as training for local crew and engineers and a spare parts package.

Guardian 1 is the third patrol vessel to be ordered by HIOSL, which serves the Nigerian oil and gas industry with a range of maritime, security and logistics services. The Lagos headquartered company has plans to become the leading marine logistics provider in the Nigerian offshore industry, according to a Damen press release.
