ITL certification

Fuel station pump controllers, the electronic devices attached to a vehicle’s fuel filler neck to enable identification, have been an integral part of every gas station. However, this technology constantly operating in hazardous locations is conditioned by strict standard requirements intended to prevent the device from catching fire due to its exposure to the hazardous location.

Products installed in a location with inflammable and/ or explosive materials (e.g. liquids, gas/ vapor, dust, etc.) must be tested for compliance with the standards and directives required for hazardous locations. Every electronic or electrical device in a hazardous location must be tested for compliance with international standards. These include a wide range of equipment and devices for fuel pump controlling (including the reader that identifies the vehicle, the nozzle), transmitters for the prevention of fuel theft from vehicle fleet companies, factory hazardous environmental meters and measuring equipment, etc.

ITL

ITL – Israel Testing Laboratories is an expert in the execution of standard compliance tests for products operating in hazardous locations, among other fields. ITL is a leading international certification and integration company which has been serving the Israeli market for three decades. The company provides complete testing and certification solutions from the development stage – the preparation of the product for standard compliance, to the stage of international marketing, including all the testing, certification process, documentation, and all aspects of international certification.

In addition to its expertise in hazardous locations, the company provides standard compliance tests in a wide variety of fields, including electromagnetic compatibility, product safety, radio, environmental conditions, etc.

In recent months, ITL has gained momentum in the global arena. The company inaugurated a European branch in Cyprus and accomplished an impressive achievement in the US market, with the establishment of a branch in Maryland and the acknowledgement as an independent laboratory for electrical equipment for hazardous locations by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) – US Coast Guard. This impressive international status won by the company as an exclusive Israeli representative in this field provides a global solution to the certification of hazardous location products, with the mutual acknowledgement of 40 states.

Ophir Benjamin Gamliel, CEO, points out that the company strives to provide its customers in Israel and globally with a comprehensive service and form a one-stop shop offering:

  • The most extensive product range
  • Rapid, professional service
  • Global market access

Regarding the company’s integration in the global market, Gamliel believes that “while previously we have provided solutions mainly to the Israeli exporters, with our expansion to the international market we will provide services also to a wide range of customers around the globe – a very large potential market.”

Undoubtedly, ITL has been successful both in providing Israeli technology exporters with the gate to the global arena, and the establishment of its own operation base in the international market.
