Various technologies might not work at a time of need in GPS-denied environments. A new mapping and location solution can overcome this problem. The NEON Personnel Tracker is a mission-critical 3D mapping and tracking solution that improves operational efficiency, command effectiveness and safety for industrial, security, public safety, and defense applications.

TRX Systems, developer of NEON Indoor Location Solutions, and Federal Resources, a leading provider of mission-critical solutions to military and first responders, will partner in the distribution of the NEON Personnel Tracker, TRX’s 3D mapping, location and tracking solution, to their customers worldwide within military, federal, state, and local markets.

NEON delivers seamless indoor and outdoor 3D location and tracking for personnel operating indoors, underground, and in other GPS-denied environments.

It is an Android application tightly integrated with the NEON Location Service where a suite of patented algorithms fuse inertial sensor data, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi readings and inferred map and building data to deliver reliable 3D location. Personnel wearing a small, NEON Tracking Unit and carrying an Android device can now be tracked and located in real-time and for after action review.

Ultra-wideband or Bluetooth beacons may be implemented for initialization of location and to enhance location precision. The Android-based NEON Location Service is also available for integration with 3rd party applications via the NEON API, according to the company website.

Jeff Kunst, Vice President of Product and Business Development at TRX Systems, said the new partnership represents a strategic opportunity for TRX to accelerate awareness of their patented NEON Solutions”, according to prweb.com.

“Improving effectiveness and keeping military and first responders safe on the front lines are key parts of Federal Resources’ mission,” said Robert McWilliams, President of Federal Resources. “TRX’s unique technology represents a perfect complement to our existing solutions in tactical, C4ISR, critical infrastructure, and first responder markets.”
