Elsight offers Intelligence gathering and information sharing capabilities both for live and file-based video transport and acquisition applications
The demand for cutting edge security solutions across multiple market sectors is growing every day. Mobile security challenges emphasize the need for top quality real-time visual communications from any location at any time, whether it is over IP, cellular and Wi-Fi or WiMAX networks. Elsight, an Israeli company, develops and integrates hybrid video capturing and recording solutions that can be transmitted and displayed whenever and wherever necessary. It offers solutions that have been deployed across multiple market sectors including public security facilities and Special Forces, military and intelligence, transportation, first responders and traditional video deployments.
Elsight, established in 2009, was founded by Nir Gabay, and based on a company he was involved in earlier, iControl. Gabay had sold iControl to his partners 4 years earlier. His idea was to continue developing the technology of Digital Video Recording (DVR) and to provide a solution for systems with multi video channels. Elsight has two companies dedicated to development which are located in China and Germany.
Today, Elsight offers mobile video transmission and recording solutions for various applications, along with its original solution of DVR. Nir Gabay, Elsights’ CEO says: “We came to realize that there was no solution for the mobile and tactical market. We found that a need exists for real time video streaming from the field back to the headquarters and to the decision makers who want to stay constantly updated. We therefore developed our technology to fit those needs and today we are able to offer real time video streaming, with encryption when necessary, to multiple spread out tactical forces. This technology enables multiple forces to broadcast directly to the headquarters at the same time that headquarters can broadcast to multiple forces.”
Elsight currently provides high quality IP-centric video solutions to governmental agencies, armies, public safety and first responders. These solutions enable its customers to enhance their end-to-end intelligence gathering and information sharing capabilities both for live and file-based video transport and acquisition applications. Elsight has successfully enabled these customers to increase their operational efficiencies by getting the appropriate information required to the right place at the right time.
Elsight solutions are already responsible for having provided live video reports from disaster areas, enhanced border control and protection, as well as having deployed easy-to-use video software and hardware technology to ground forces in combat theaters around the world.
Elsight uses available cellular communications to enable video and audio streaming, and when that is not possible it uses WiFi or satellite communications. The advantage Elsight holds is its ability to use multi cellular antennas for its purpose as well as an ability to extend the bandwidth capabilities of streaming video by aggregating unlimited numbers of network links to transmit a single video stream. According to Gabay, “this capability actually expands the visual reach in the field to provide decision makers with the on line tools they need to make decisions and decide on operations.”
