Iran's Nuclear Program
Iran’s nuclear complex at Natanz

Back to the issue of Iran’s nuclear program. Let me be brief this time.

Iran continues to fool the whole world. The Mujahedin e Khalq, an Iranian opposition organization (aka “People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran”), uncovered yet another nuclear facility which is part of the country’s nuclear program. The world, however, does not want to know. There must be additional facilities like the newly uncovered one, where Iran is building its bomb.

Washington is furious at Israel’s prime minister. He probably really doesn’t know what is going on in the talks between the “5+1” powers and Iran. The Americans are not keeping him in the loop.

Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Speech before Congress will probably make no difference whatsoever. Iran will become a country with an actual military nuclear capability – not a country on the verge of having nuclear weapons. Iran will have nuclear warhead to arm its long range ballistic missiles with.

According to sources in the international media, Israel has invested about 11 billion NIS (nearly $3 billion) in preparations ahead of a strike against Iran. Nevertheless, not a single Israeli military expert seriously considered such an attack could really force Iran to abandon its nuclear program and end it.

The unfolding result in the region is a nuclear balance, a Middle East version of Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD). This balance of nuclear terror will emerge between Israel, which – according to foreign sources already has a nuclear capability, and Iran, which will soon join the nuclear club.

The US seems to be tired of Israel, which has been acting out of spite, without any forethought. Nevertheless, with the Iranian nuclear threat looming, Israel will desperately need the US on a daily, hourly, basis. But now more than ever, US-Israel relations are at an all-time low. Even Secretary of State Kerry, a characteristically reserved and cool player, could not resist saying what he truly thought of Mr. Netanyahu’s moves. Coming from Kerry, this is tantamount to a slap across the face.

US and European companies are waiting in line to do business in Iran, once the agreement is signed, an agreement which will not be worth the paper it’s written on. No one is taking Israel into consideration since it made a fool of itself. Even our closest allies are tired of us.

In summation, an elephant in a china shop could cause less damage than Israel’s leadership when it comes to Iran’s nuclear program and the part the US plays in the framework of its attempt to block it.
