Achidatex completed a force protection retrofitting project in North America for a governmental institute. The project consists of forced entry and ballistic protection, using light composite materials
The project consisted of the integration of Achidatex Laminated E- Glass Panels. These panels are used for infrastructure protection from ballistic, blast, forced entry and fire threats.
According to Raz Yatskan, Achidatex’s marketing and sales manager: “the E-glass panels are usually used where it is not possible to use steel for protecting the infrastructure”, he adds that “the integration of the E-glass panels is also very discreet, as it is quick and quiet”. The E-glass composite panels’ offer advanced ballistic resistance at only 75% of the weight of an equivalent anti-ballistic steel panel.
E-glass fibers are interwoven and pressed with a unique resin method, with each layer perpendicular to the previous and reinforced with resin which provides the panels with exceptional strength and durability.
The protective ballistic grade E-Glass panels are designed for both internal and external applications and can be easily integrated into standard building providing concealed ballistic, blast and forced entry protection. The use is in various applications for both governmental and civil infrastructure, such as Military structures, Embassies, Police stations, Courtrooms and more.
