The success of the Tavor assault rifle, already sold to thousands of Americans, is no coincidence. “Due to President Obama’s actions and the planned restrictions on assault rifle sales many Americans decided to buy their rifle right now,” explained Elias. “The American weapons market shows significant growth each year, and there hasn’t been an innovative product for a while. We arrived with something else – a combat proven Israeli weapon, with an unfamiliar configuration.” The Tavor proved to be an internet favorite as well. “People talk about it in terms of falling in love. They say it’s an attractive, good looking, futuristic weapon, not to mention reliable. We’ve even seen a man who tattooed a Tavor on his arm”, said the IWI CEO.

The company considers entering the American market an important part of its future plans, and intends to offer U.S. gun lovers one or two weapons each year out of the existing stocks, in addition to sales to defense organizations worldwide.
