11942725_sWe already mentioned the facts that are included in the state comptroller’s report that was published today, but even we did not realize how bad the situation is.

State Comptroller Joseph Shapira believes Israel’s defense establishment needs to be better prepared for an attack on its civilian population, and is calling for a unified effort by the security forces, operating under a single authority.

Regarding the ability to deal with attacks on the home front, Shapira said that Israel must consolidate all of its efforts under a single central authority, in order to better prepare for natural disasters and future rocket and missile threats to the home front.

The report also states that instead of simplifying the process, the Home Front Defense Ministry, currently headed by Gilad Erdan, has instead made it less clear which agencies are responsible in times of emergency.
