WiiM has introduced its first wireless smart speaker, the WiiM Sound, at the Munich High-End show, marking the brand’s entry into the home audio market. The speaker combines hi-fi sound quality, smart connectivity, and multi-room functionality, all controlled through the WiiM Home App and compatible voice assistants.
The compact speaker features a 10-cm long-throw woofer paired with dual tweeters, delivering up to 100 watts of 24-bit/192 kHz audio. A 4.5-cm touch display offers direct access to playback controls, equalizer settings, and input selection, while the included WiiM Voice Remote 2 Lite supports push-to-talk commands and one-touch control. The design allows flexible placement on shelves, counters, or wall mounts, blending into most room setups without sacrificing sound performance.
Users can control the speaker via iOS or Android devices using the WiiM app, switching playlists, adjusting volume, or transferring music between rooms. When multiple WiiM Sound units are connected, the system supports synchronized multi-room playback. The speaker integrates with services including Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Chromecast, DLNA, and Alexa Cast, offering broad streaming compatibility.
According to Forbes, connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and 100 Mbps Ethernet, supporting stable and high-quality streaming. Sound customization is extensive, with 24 preset EQ (adjusting the volume of specific frequency ranges to change the overall tone of a sound) profiles, a 10-band graphic and parametric EQ, and an AI RoomFit auto-tuning feature that adapts audio output to the room’s acoustics. Two speakers can be paired for stereo sound, and the unit can also function in-home-theater setups as a center or surround speaker for a Dolby 5.1 experience.
