The Chinese state-run Aviation Industry Corporation AVIC may have given a first look at the H-20 stealth bomber. A promotional video showcasing a new long-range bomber for the first time to the public apes Northrop Grumman’s famous 2015 Superbowl ad teasing what is now known as the B-21 Raider.

The Chinese video shows the front outline of the long-range bomber as the video is about to finish. The flying-wing bomber was covered by a blanket, with only its outline visible.

Song Zhongping, a military expert and TV commentator, told the globaltimes.cn that the aircraft is similar to the US B-2 stealth bomber. From the video, it’s hard to determine the precise parameters of the bomber, but referring to other countries’ aircraft, China’s long-range bomber should have a range of at least 12,000 kilometers and 20 tons of store carrying capacity, Fu Qianshao, an air defense expert, evaluates.

Hidden at the very end of the just over five-minute long video is the brief view of what appears to be a flying-wing style aircraft under a sheet with the text “The Next…” in English. The clip never specifically mentions the H-20 and doesn’t give any details about the aircraft, but it seems very likely that this was at least meant to represent the ongoing project.

The video which combines file footage with slick computer-generated graphics has AVIC branding only, but it is specifically a celebration of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Xi’an Aircraft Industrial Corporation, or XAC, which the Chinese government founded in 1958. XAC is reportedly responsible for the development of the H-20, according to thedrive.com.
