18315594_m-egozi-featureThe Israeli Home Front command and the Planning Division of the army’s General Headquarters, have given us now, for the first time since 2007 a what-if forecast regarding a future war in the Northern part of Israel.

What a shame. A real disgrace, I think. The forecast, distributed to heads of municipalities, includes assessments foretelling numbers of casualties and structures expected to be hit. According to a higher- up in at the Home Front command, we should be expecting an average of about 1,200 rockets a day, launched, presumably, from Lebanon. I need to clarify here: according to this apocalyptic scenario several hundreds of Israelis are going to die.

But I have a better forecast. This is what I think should happen: after an initial rocket volley, Israel will blast the areas in Lebanon where the missiles come from with all it’s got. And I mean all it’s got; I don’t mean carefully planned precision targeting.

I don’t see why our leaders should agree to a situation where Israel is under fire and thousands of rockets are launched at it. This can and should be prevented, by giving the air force and other forces a free hand to “wipe out anything that moves”.

It hasn’t happened up until now, and the reason it hasn’t is that government officials are too worried about what people outside Israel will say about us. Keeping Israelis alive is not such a high priority with them.

Air force commander, brigadier general Amir Eshel referred to said forecast and reiterated that “we have the capability to hit thousands of targets a day. This is, like, thousands of times more than what we were able to do years ago.”

All this is nobody’s secret. Everyone knows we have the strength to retaliate. The question is whether or not various government officials get cold feet and refuse to give the order.

What we are seeing now is the most theatrical act of fraud ever; a giant production with talented directors from Teheran and some very mediocre actors from the US and Europe.

Iran is fooling the world while everybody seem to be watching and enjoying themselves as if this was some school play. All the actors are interested in are the giant weapon deals their countries are going to be able to sign with these smiling Iranian minions, playing the part of nice guys for the whole world to see while representing the duplicitous Ayatollahs.

Minister of Defense Moshe Bogie Ye’elon said that the renewed tunnel digging activity by the Hamas in the Gaza strip is well known, but that so far there haven’t been any signs that the tunnels have reached the Israeli side of the border. So what are they saying?

Residents of the Kibutzim and small towns close to the fence are feeling abandoned, and with good reason. The government is expecting them to sit and wait until the Hamas raises its head right in the middle of their town square!
