Our website is one year old, but even as a toddler it still managed to shine. iHLS is the prominent Israeli defense website, specializing in HLS and related areas. It’s not just a local news website, either: We cover the entire world.
First, some facts:
- We reach readers in 212 countries
- We wrote 1871 posts in 109 categories
- 1,077,634 unique users this year
- An average of 3,000 unique visits a day
- An average visit to our site is 2.64 minutes long, and includes 2.5 pages
- We upload 5 posts daily, in Hebrew and English
- 73% of our readers are non-Israelis
- 12,500 friends on social networks
- 62,500 receive our newsletter
- 232 websites link to us (pull content automatically)
- We publish in thousands of forums in Israel and abroad, every article appearing only in the relevant forums

But that’s just the beginning. We’re developing several new products right now, some in secret and some already in operation. Among them is a newsletter designed for reader customization – “build your own customized newsletter” – out every Monday noon (Israel time). We’ve added a more accurate and accessible navigation toolbar in order to give our readers an improved experience.
The company behind the website organized several conventions and expos, including the AUS&R 2013 Air Show, a unique, unprecedented event focusing on robotics and unmanned systems. The media coverage of the event was referred to as “a media blitz” by top defense industry figures.
A source in the defense establishment said this week: “The website, and your activities in general, are unprecedented. You’ve changed the world of Israeli defense publishing. The world wanted quality information, and it responded favorably.”
So, this “baby” skipped crawling and went straight to walking, with full-speed running – and other achievements – planned for the immediate future.
