Video analytics can be used for various purposes – motion detection for security, facial recognition & license plate reading, people counting for retail stores and more. Biometric technologies are one of the latest fields in video analytics.

Biometric technologies such as facial and iris identification, fingerprints etc. are often used for surveillance and security in borders, vital installations, airports and public venues, and organizations.

Now, biometrics are becoming the basis for video analytics tools as one of the latest surveillance measures. With the growing threat of crime and terrorism to public security, various security agencies are looking for biometric techniques for video surveillance and analytics applications.

Thanks to recent advances in computer vision and machine learning as well as imaging hardware, these technologies have become more and more feasible and widespread.

This new aspect of video analytics is only one of the fascinating themes that will be presented at the fifth Video Analytics Conference and Exhibition organized by iHLS, with the participation of the leading industries, experts and representatives from the IDF and the security and law enforcement agencies.

The event which will showcase leading Israeli and global innovation in video analytics will take place on October 30th, 2017 at the Lago Conference Center, Rishon LeZion.
