In recent years, the UAV field has been taking off into being one of the most advanced technological fields in the world. If until now the field was considered to be related to military and Homeland Security alone, it seems that the day isn’t far when UAVs, especially miniature drones, will become widespread in the civil world as well. A recent report published by Visongain indicates that in 2015 the UAV market is expected to reach $1.6 billion and to keep rising in the next ten years.
According to the report, the rise is expected to be constant, mostly due to its growing use in military and Homland security, as threats to be dealt with are becoming increasingly dangerous with a range including chemical, biological and radioactive threats. Another reason for this expected growth by 2025 is the fact that the range of possibilities for UAVs to be used is becoming wider, with new original ideas for usage being found every day. However, even with a constant grow on the global level, there may be some instabilities in a specific sectorial field or within local markets.
The use of UAV, as mentioned, isn’t limited to the security field alone and the civil field can also utilize it to many uses. In agriculture UAVs can be used to effectively spray fields. In business it can be used as a platform to run errands. In this field Amazon has recently taken the initiative and announced the future use of a robotic delivery service for its clients.
