At the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) in the UAE, U.S. company DZYNE Technologies unveiled its latest counter-drone solution, the Dronebuster Detect, Track, Identify, Mitigate (DTIM) Kit.

The Dronebuster DTIM Kit weighs just under 4 kg, making it lightweight and easy for soldiers to carry while on the move. It consists of two key components: the Dronebuster mitigation system and the Dronebuster DTI system. Together, these components provide an integrated solution for detecting, tracking, and neutralizing drone threats.

The mitigation system comes in two variants: the Dronebuster 4 and the Dronebuster 4-EU. The EU version, as the name suggests, was created to meet the requirements of the European short-range frequency band. Both models include Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) attack capabilities, allowing them to counter GNSS-enabled drones. This makes the Dronebuster DTIM Kit the first American-made electronic attack system to offer this functionality, according to Interesting Engineering.

The Dronebuster DTI system plays a crucial role in enhancing situational awareness. It offers advanced detection, tracking, and identification of drones over distances of up to 7 km, across frequencies ranging from 400 MHz to 6 GHz. The system’s omnidirectional antennas enable continuous, real-time monitoring, with haptic, audio, and visual alerts to keep soldiers informed while they stay on the move.

When it comes to tracking, the DTIM Kit integrates Remote ID and AeroScope technologies, allowing for precise drone location information. The system uses radio frequency direction-finding to pinpoint drone positions, and this data is displayed on a Tactical Assault Kit (TAK) device or built-in LCD, ensuring quick and efficient decision-making during high-pressure situations.

With over 2,000 units sold globally, the Dronebuster system has proven its reliability in neutralizing drone threats. In an era where drone threats continue to evolve, the DTIM Kit could be a critical asset for soldiers. The system’s advanced capabilities position it as an essential counter-drone solution for modern military operations.
