An interview with Mr. Zohar Dvir, CEO of Zohar Dvir Yazamut, shortly after his talk in the Future Forces conference.
In the interview, Dvir talks about his company’s new IFF (Identification Friend-Foe) system that can be used by the infantry soldiers in the field. The system works by a radio frequency transmitters and helps a soldier to decide whether he should shoot or not, widening combat awareness, thus decreasing friendly-fire incidents.
The system’s concept has already been approved and is now entering production stages.
Having this system carried by every infantry soldier will substantially reduce friendly-fire incidents and aid the soldiers in making decisions based on knowledge rather than instinct, which proves false at times.
