Command and Control – Physical Security Information Management (PSIM)

PSIM platforms typically utilize a variety of technologies to present information and guide decision-making processes by both control center and response force personnel. In addition, because the PSIM platform sits on top of multiple security sub-systems, advanced rule-based programming can be used to correlate sensor inputs with automated messaging, video functions and other security management activities.

Fortis 4G system aggregates data from multiple security sub-systems in real time in order to enhance site managers’ situational awareness. Multiple information streams are organized through as single, intuitive Graphic User Interface (GUI) optimized for both routine operations and crisis management. Stationary and mobile users benefit from a powerful Geographic Information System (GIS) engine with 2D maps, 3D graphic emulation and event driven video management. The results are streamlined security operations, faster and more coordinated responses to alarms, and improved organization of stored data. Perimeter Security Solutions (PIDS)

Magal S3 is clearly the world′s number one player in the market, offering the largest home grown portfolio of products and technologies to fit any type of threat, environment and budget.
PIDS technologies

Taut wire – DTR, YAEL – A hybrid system of sensors weaved into a barbed wire fence. This fence offers guaranteed performance in all-weather conditions. It has demonstrated a high probability of detection (POD) and an almost zero false alarm rate (FAR). It is not cheap but ideal for high security, where deterrence and delay must be achieved on top of uncompromised intrusion detection.

Fence-mounted sensors – Barricade II– These sensors are ideal add-ons to existing fences as an affordable solution. A second security measure, such as cctv, must be integrated as a verification tool for high security sites.

Buried cable sensors – A virtual fence implemented by a smart cable, buried less than one foot underground. The cable creates an invisible electromagnetic field, capable of detecting any intruder entering the narrow virtual corridor. The buried cable sensor is an ideal solution for places where a fence cannot be installed for aesthetic or environmental reasons, such as concrete platforms where movement must be restricted during non-active parts of the day.

Microwave– Another type of virtual fence that creates an invisible electromagnetic beam. This is ideal for virtual gates, where the “gate” must be open for traffic during the daytime but must be shut down at off-times, such as nights or weekends.

Tailored robust grids – MagBar– these are designed to plug critical holes in perimeter security systems by custom fitting a specific opening, such as canals, pipes, open tunnels or drains. The grid is fortified with either electro mechanical or electro optical sensors threaded within the steel.

Volumteric Sensors – PipeGuard , TunnelGuard – PipeGuard™ is a revolutionary approach for underground pipes from 3rd party damage challenge, and is designed to help contain the costs associated with 3rd party damage. What makes PipeGuard™ unique is its ability to detect digging events the moment equipment begins to break the surface of the area adjacent the buried lines. As a result, PipeGuard ™ gives the utility the ability to prevent the damage from occurring.

TunnelGuard is a completely covert vault protection system that uses vibration sensors embedded in the walls or foundations of a structure to detect secret tunneling attempts before the actual breach occurs.

Cyber Security with Holistic Site Security

Digital electronic technology has permeated every aspect of life. Electronic chips drive communications, transportation, energy utilities – essentially everything. Most of the manufacturing and service platforms in the corporate campus are electronic, and if not – will be soon enough.

Cyber attacks may cause Denial of Service (DoS), jamming and saturation of sensors, security system neutralization, information tampering, loss of IP and more.  While motivation for cyber and physical space attacks are similar, however sometimes with different flavor:

• Similar threats – crime, vandalism
• Advanced and more sophisticated threats – terror, anti government protest, internal (e.g. employees)
• Threats unique to cyberspace – hackers and competition (espionage)

Cyber security systems create alerts in a similar manner to any other security sensors. Magal is using its advanced PSIM system to collect and manage cyber alerts. Almost any existing critical site has its own mature and working SOC (Security Operation Center); the same SOC will cover the new threats.

By that, we leverage the mature culture of alerting, verification, escalation and compliance to construct a coherent threat management for the entire site and assets.
