After several terror attacks on Pakistan in the past, the Muslim country’s BSF has decided to enhance their presence on the tense border with India. As past of this decision, the Pakistani forces are planning to install motion sensors all along the border, as to offer better surveillance on any threat that might try and pass the country’s borders. These state of the are sensors are already being put to use in several places along the border, such as in Kashmir, which is a source of long lasting conflice between the two countries. The decision is not yet being applied in this area of dispute and is not in its final stages, waiting for apporoval, but knowledgeable sources say that it was, in principle, approved.

An official source of the BSF said that “These sensors will alert the BSF in case of movement near the border. As one crosses the border, the sensors will send signals to the nearest control station. Thus, the patrolling station can get down to work quickly.” These special, laser-based motion sensors, will be installed on the field soon, with a simultaneous suggestion to install surveillance cameras to detect any abnormal movement in the area they’re monitoring. Thermal cameras area already being used to secure the border between the two rival countries.

The BSF hope that the technology installed today, as well as that to be in installed in the future, will create a safer border, unpenetrable to hostile elements from the Indian side of the fence. On the other hand, applying too many hi-tec, expensive and noticable security means along the border might make the hostility between the two countries even more present, causing several parties of interest to emphasize the danger only in favor of more expensive deals and more of them.
