BNET radio for Israeli Air Force

The Israeli Air Force (IAF) will use the BNET software defined radio (SDR) system developed by Rafael as its main communication system on existing and future platforms.
The BNET system replaces existing radio systems installed in aircraft. According to the Israeli company, while half in size it offers a very broad communications channel for data.
According to Rafael, the SDR system optimizes spectrum utilization, while the use of advanced waveforms delivers high speed networking, supporting live video, image transfer, voice and data.

A Rafael source said that the BNET communications systems have been selected by the Air Forces of Brazil and Colombia. The company is now competing in other countries. The biggest competition is in India.
The Rafafel source added that the BNET allows the aircraft to achieve a fully networked communication systems between airborne platforms and ground a naval forces. “It’s a fully seamless system that allows the transfer of data including video images in unprecedented rates”
