Palbam Advanced Metal Technologies gives the term “metal parts” a new meaning. If you’ve imagined some roughly welded pieces of steal you are in for a surprise. This company’s products include the most accurately designed and executed bits of metal imaginable, including parts of missile and rockets essential to the weapon system.

The company is a leader amongst the designers and manufacturers of sophisticated metal parts in Israel. Their products include pressure containers for missiles as well as missile heads. As an example, Palbam developed, along with Rafael personnel, the “Dolphin” had for the “Stunner”. The Stunner is the missile used with the “Magic Wand” system developed by Rafael in cooperation with the American manufacturer Raytheon.

The Dolphin is considered a very sophisticated missile head, able to contain several of the missile’s sensors. It is, in fact, the missile head expected to protect Israel’s skies from long range rockets. In addition the company is developing the missile container for Barak-8, the anti-ship missile developed by IAI (Israeli Aerial Industry) along with Rafael. This is a sealed container, protecting the missile when stationed on deck ship and from which the missile is launched.

Palbam also manufactures parts of the long range rocket “Extra” made by IMI (Israel Military Industry) and takes part in many military classified projects.

The company is signed on many collaboration agreements with companies abroad. There is, for example, an agreement between Palbam and a large Indian company “BrahMos Aerospace Thiruvananthapuram Ltd” (“BATL”).

The company designs the parts it manufactures in close cooperation with the weapon systems manufacturers, whether in Israel or abroad. The vast know-how accumulated by Palbam helps shorten the developmental stage of the product thus saving expenses.
