During the course of the investigation into the 13 November attacks on Paris, Belgian and French authorities discovered video footage of a top nuclear official at one of the houses they searched, the Belgian prosecutor confirmed. No details of the video, target, or those responsible for it have been released, “for obvious security reasons.”

The video was potentially taken by one of the terrorists, an accomplice, or an abettor. The Belgian prosecutor confirmed the existence of “images mentioned by the press… regarding a person linked to the nuclear industry,” Newsweek reports.

The video was uncovered “as part of seizures made following the Paris attacks,” said the Belgian prosecutor, but refused to reveal further details “for obvious security reasons.”

The Belgian police has been conducting a thorough investigation since the 13 November Paris attacks, and have arrested 11 individuals accused of involvement in planning or executing the attacks. Two suspects, Salah Abdeslam and Mohamed Abrini, are thought to be central figures in the plot and are yet to be captured. Both resided at the Molenbeek neighbourhood in Brussels. Belgian authorities believe the two are in hiding somewhere in Belgium despite initial reports that the two escaped to Syria.

Belgian daily La Derniere Heure reports that the footage was found in the Flanders region, but confirms that officials remain reticent.

The Belgian Federal Agency for Nuclear Control insisted that concealing the details of the official and of the property where the footage was found was crucial as to not “endanger the enquiry or nuclear security” or the lives of the person involved and their family.
