“The world has to take the Iranian nuclear threat very seriously, and it has to understand that Iran must be stopped by any means necessary – including negotiations. However, the fact that Israel terrifies Iran also has to be taken into account. Iran is afraid because Israel has the capability to decisively carry out all its threats.”

This according to former Mossad Director Efraim Halevy at the recent annual convention of the Zionist Federation of Britain. Halevy added that “today Israel is safe despite the security challenges in the region, such as the situation in Syria.”

Former MI6 Director Sir Richard Dearlove also took part in the event. According to Sir Dearlove Iran is “a country with many weaknesses and a fragile political system.” Iran, he said, is assisting President Assad because of the fear that if the current Syrian regime falls Iran will be next.

“From my point of view,” added Dearlove, “Iran is like a dangerous, teenage boy that’s angry at the world for not allowing him access to dangerous technology. The west’s practical approach to halting Iran’s nuclear progress is the best one.”
