Fast Draw: The Third Intifada

There’s no intifada, and in the south it’s just a few isolated incidents. The IDF is containing the situation, this according to the media after the Defense Ministry employee was murdered.

It’s always the same. The Palestinians open fire and terrorize, and Israel denies there’s an escalation – Israel is also very good at “containing” situations. That’s been going on for a while now, it weakens us, erodes the Israeli deterrence.

The Palestinians know that under the umbrella of the so called “peace talks” that can do whatever they want. That’s not a state with a powerful army acts, those are the actions of a terrified state, afraid of every American or European response.

We will pay the price for showing so much weakness. They kill us, they wound us; we respond by firing some rockets at long-evacuated targets. This can’t go on any longer, but there’s no one in Jerusalem who can come out and say it. There are no peace talks and there’s no reason to “contain” the situation, an empty and dangerous phrase.

The Palestinians will attack sooner or later. Their rising strength in the west bank, but mainly in Gaza, already reached unprecedented levels. Israel hesitates, doesn’t act according to Prime Minister Netanyahu’s warnings. The Palestinians are quick learners.

And so the intifada will continue. The terror attacks will continue. The Palestinians are in control, we only “contain.”
