Rohde & Schwarz has announced an upgrade to its counter-drone technology with the launch of the ARDRONIS Effect. This new addition enhances the company’s capabilities in the electromagnetic spectrum, a critical element for military success across diverse environments. The ARDRONIS Effect is a sophisticated multiband jamming system designed to counteract a wide range of drone threats, from basic models to advanced, weaponized drones and drone swarms.
As drone technology evolves rapidly on the battlefield with new tactics, ARDRONIS Effect addresses these challenges head-on. The system is specifically designed to neutralize even the most resilient, jam-resistant drones operating across multiple frequencies, including in crowded and contested areas. With the growing prevalence of first-person-view (FPV) drones, ARDRONIS Effect provides operators with the flexibility to counteract multiple simultaneous drone threats, according to the press release.
The system has been field-tested and is already operational with undisclosed customers in Europe. ARDRONIS Effect can work as a standalone, but it is also designed to have the option to integrate seamlessly into existing counter-drone systems, including ARDRONIS Detect and ARDRONIS Locate systems. When combined, these systems can detect, identify, track, and neutralize drone threats early in their engagement phase. Additionally, its open architecture allows it to work with external open counter-drone systems.
One of the key strengths of ARDRONIS Effect is its ability to jam across multiple frequency bands at high output power, ensuring comprehensive coverage without time or frequency gaps. This is crucial for disrupting both drones used in reconnaissance or armed attacks.
With applications ranging from military force protection to safeguarding critical infrastructure, the ARDRONIS Effect is designed to meet the increasing demand for advanced counter-drone measures across a variety of sectors, from armored vehicles and convoys to national power grids and maritime terminals.
