In cooperation with local government authorities, the Emirates Tawazun Economic Council signed a term sheet with a US Defense company to establish a new monitoring center for Emirates’ army.

A non-binding agreement with L3Harris Technologies outlines the two companies’ joint management of a new center that will showcase the company’s new system, the WESCAM MX, which can be used both by conventional aircraft and unmanned ones to track low-altitude objects. The UAE army will use the system, according to an official press release.

Furthermore, L3Harris will collaborate with Atlas Telecom from the UAE to establish an information analysis center.

In addition to procurement for the Emirates Army, the Tawazon Economic Council is responsible for procurement for Abu Dhabi Police. American security and protection technology firm L3Harris manufactures radios, antennas, and operates various advanced systems.

The agreement was signed at the UMEX 2022 unmanned tool conference in Abu Dhabi, according to al-monitor.com.
