Our in-depth understanding of underwater acoustics has enabled us to develop highly advanced Acoustic Intelligence (ACINT) monitoring and analysis applications. The company’s Underwater Acoustic Signature Analysis System (U.A.S.A.) is a shore-based system for Low Frequency Sonar (LOFAR) data collecting, processing, analysis, classification and database management. The LOFAR data, which consists of acoustic signals radiated by various sources, is received and collected by naval sonar systems (submarine sonars, towed arrays, surface and air platforms, fixed bottom moored sonar systems, sonobuoys, etc.) using a data recording system installed onboard the vessels. These recording systems are installed in submarines, surface vessels and air planes. Once data is collected and the vessel is back in the base, the recorded data is sent for analysis at the central lab to create the Navy's acoustic signature database.

The UASA applies advanced processing algorithms to derive classification and identification parameters of the signal source. The system also includes extensive database tools. Once data is collected by the various sonar systems it is analyzed by a central computer and returned to the platforms to serve as data in an acoustic signature database for aiding in online classification.

The Underwater Acoustic Signal Analysis System Display

.

SeaShield™ Coastal Underwater Surveillance System

Designed to serve as a long range underwater warning system against the threat of submarines and smaller submersibles, the SeaShield is installed along critical coastlines, maritime borders and at harbor entrances. Its combined active and passive sonar arrays provide a real-time situational picture of the underwater protected area.

The SeaShield is comprised of an active transmit array, large passive receive arrays and an electronic unit installed on the sea bed. The system’s two long receive array strings are composed of multiple hydrophones that pick up the signals returning from underwater objects. The SeaShield supports automatic classification that distinguishes between submarines and other underwater objects. The system sounds an automatic alert siren the moment that a submarine or mini-sub is detected and classified. The underwater threat is continuously tracked by the system and its exact position data is displayed on the screen.

Naval monitoring of the underwater surroundings along their coastlines translates to better security for the navy’s own ships and vessels. In case of alert the navy is also capable of sending its special Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) responders to the exact location of the unidentified submarine. Several SeaShield systems can be deployed in-line to operate together as a long submarine barrier. Unlike traditional ASW operations that involve search patrols performed by ships, helicopters and Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA), the SeaShield is a fixed system that is constantly on the hunt for submarines.

.

Hull Mounted Sonar

Based on its many years of experience in the field of sonar and underwater acoustics, DSIT is offering a cost effective and adaptable Hull Mounted Sonar (HMS).

DSIT's HMS can be used for Coastal and offshore patrol, autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) tracking, search and recovery, ASW, surveillance, early torpedo warning and other operations required by navies. The HMS also includes a built in training simulator as well as a built in test (BIT) device.

Designed for small to medium sized vessels, DSIT's HMS is highly reliable for use in shallow and deep water and even in waters with high levels of reverberation. Additional functions include range prediction – ray-path and detection contours as well as mutual interference suppressor. The HMS is based on COTS items, and is easily integrated with the ships other systems. Low maintenance costs and user friendly displays are part of what makes up the system’s excellent performance.

www.dsit.co.il

For the past two decades DSIT Solutions has been developing and applying state-of-the-art technology to create advanced sonar systems and C&C applications for defense, commercial, energy and homeland security markets.
