The speech Abu Mazen (Mahmoud Abbas) delivered before the UN was a godsend to anyone in Israel with eyes to see. All those bleeding hearts who still thought there was any chance for a reasonable peace with the Palestinians, finally realized this weekend that they were entertaining a silly illusion. Aby Mazen’s suit cannot hide the fact that he is allowing a new Intifada (uprising) to unfold in Judea and Samaria – a fact that several Israeli cabinet ministers, notably the internal security minister, are trying to conceal on a daily basis.

The speech by Mahmoud Abbas before the UN’s General Assembly was the final burial of what fools and blind people call “the peace process”.

Abbas told the truth for the first time – he has no interest in the peace process. He wants a conflict. The Israeli leftwing parties have taken a real beating. No more illusions. What you see before you is an unmasked terrorist organization.

Some commentators argue Abbas’ speech reflects the Palestinians’ outrage over the devastation in Gaza as well as his own belief Netanyahu is no partner for peace. That may be, but Abbas knows full well that Hamas in Gaza comprises his own enemies, those who would have his head. Now the lines between Abbas and Hamas is blurred.

Those who attempted to differentiate between Gaza on the one hand and Judea and Samaria o the other now realize their mistake. Those who are yet to realize there is an uprising going on in Judea and Samaria are blind or stupid or both. Jerusalem found it expedient to portray this as “local events”. BS. The West Bank is in the throes of Intifada, and Israel is not coping. Perhaps now, after Abu Mazen’s speech, someone will realize a different approach is in order. A policy that would allow local residents to drive without fearing for their lives in their own vehicles.

The cat is now out the bag, or more precisely, the makeshift rockets are now in plain sight. The Intifada in Judea and Samaria poses a far greater threat of terror than what we are currently witnessing. Only when everyone here realize the fact that there are no negotiations ahead of any settlement, can the terror infrastructures be dealt with properly, lest rockets from Judea and Samaria will rain on the center of Israel.
