Petrus Aviation specializes in the field of military aviation and bases it knowledge and expertise on experienced and accomplished veterans, mainly of the Israeli Defense Forces, the police and the defense industries. Petrus Aviation represented a handful of large international companies at the annual AUS&R convention, among them stand out technologies developed by the Japanese company, EPSON.

EPSON, a subsidiary company of the well-known SEIKO, brings to the table new navigation and support devices for autonomous systems and robots, inertial measurement unit (IMU) systems. Precision is achieved thanks to the fact that the systems are based on quartz in addition to MEMS. The new development enables to achieve reliability and stability in one compact package, regarding affordability, low energy consumption and minimum space. Another outstanding trait held be the EPSON development is it’s incredibly light weight from 1 gram up to 10 grams.

The Attitude and Heading Reference System (mini AHRS) was developed in Israel on the basis of EPSON IMU. The system enables the receiving of acceleration delta and rotation delta. The system is very small and with affordable price. Measurements are characterized by low noise, low delay, reliability and stability in all types of tests including flights. The system contains two IMUS in order to assure continuous output at any conditions.

Gabriel Gavry, VP of business development at Petrus, explained the important link between them and EPSON to i-hls.com: “The beginning was a little tough since we’re talking about such large-scale companies, we’ve put a lot of effort in to it and thankfully it’s paid off”.
When asked about the Israeli market regarding navigation and stabilization devices Gavry added: “In Israel the field is packed so it was a bold move to enter the market, but we’re glad we’ve done it since it’s been rather smooth sailing since then”.
Petrus is also representing Northrop Grumman (NGC), an American leading company in the development and manufacture of Inertial Grade Navigation Systems for airborne, ground, sea and space applications. The company offers miniature Gyros based on the DTG technology, Inertial Measuring Unit (IMU) and Inertial Navigation Systems such as the LN251, an advanced and lightweight system, very popular for UAV’s and helicopters applications.

Petrus is also the representative in Israel of PBS Company in the field of small jet engines up to 100 kgf and turboprop up to HP 300.
In addition, Petrus represents the Chekoslovakian company ESC, a leading company specializing in satellite software and command systems, communications, UAV systems and more. The company also developed various types of UAVs which serve as a training target simulating an enemy aircraft.
HAES 400 UAV model is an autonomous system programmed to simulate an enemy aircraft flight, for the purpose of defense systems training. The UAV showcases an impressive range of 30 to 3,000m, its speed reaches 400 km/h and it is capable of carrying various payloads, which simulate enemy assault capabilities, such as IR systems, radar and target disruption systems.

Other international companies represented by Petrus aviation include: RIX Industries, Free Flight, Antenna Associates and many more.

Among its vast array of activities, Petrus Aviation supports marketing and sales of hi-tech, avionics, radars, industrial systems and components, security systems and products; supports technology transfers and joint ventures in the international market; supports cooperation between the Israeli industries and other foreign companies in the fields of R&D and production; and sells technical products and components to Industry OEMs as well as to end users.
