Fast Draw – The Massacre In Orlando: A Black Stain On The US

Watching the broadcasts from the US TV, it seems incomprehensible. Americans, and mostly officials including president Obama, can’t understand or won’t understand that they are in the middle of a world war.

They refuse to name it for what it is – global Islamic terrorism – and prefer to use all sorts of names that are not only laughable, but worrisome.

This is not how you fight Islamic terror which is spreading throughout the world like a plague. This is not how you fight Islamic terror which mostly benefits from the ability to purchase firearms so easily.

In this atmosphere it’s no wonder that the shooter in Orlando was under surveillance but still was not stopped. They can’t seem to understand what drives Jihadists to murder innocent people.

It seems that even those who should understand simply don’t. They don’t understand that this is a new kind of terrorism.

They don’t understand that this terrorism relies on incitement against anyone who isn’t an Islamist.

This lack of understand is nothing new. Even before 9/11 the terrorists who hijacked the planes and crashed them into the twin towers were under surveillance.

Counterterror bodies, both in the US and Europe, don’t understand who they are dealing with.

If those responsible for security won’t realize that civil rights in a democratic state are holy, but so are human lives, people will still tut about “a line of meddling with civil rights”  and innocent people will continue to pay for this stupidity.

It’s enough to see how the US-led coalition against ISIS in Syria and Iraq to realize how deep this misunderstanding goes.

It’s enough to see how countries with enormous military might are afraid of taking it down. They didn’t realize that the enemy has changed: No more tanks and airplanes, but hate-filled terrorists who are willing to kill every person who doesn’t believe what they believe in, whatever that is.

This helplessness against a terrorist organization, whatever its name is, that works against “heretics” is a black stain on the West and mostly on the US.

This is a world war and in such a war we must use whatever is in our arsenal and not just guns for show.
