Egozi’s Fury – Memorial Day And A Worrisome Future

The memorial day for Israel’s fallen soldiers as held last week.

According to data from the ministry of defense, the number of fallen since 1860 to today is 23,447. Since the last memorial day, 68 more were added to the count, and 59 IDF disabled who died as result of their disability, were recognized as IDF fallen. 16,307 is the number of bereaved families, among which are some ten thousand bereaved parents, about five thousand widows, and 1,948 orphans up to the age of 30.

Numbers. Statistics. Grief for the families. A day which only enhances the pain that’s already there all the time.

The private grief was at the center, but at the same time there was also much concern regarding the future.

There’s no doubt unfortunately that the number of casualties will grow, both in military operations and in acts of terrorism.

In these two area we accept almost automatically the growing list of casualties, as if it’s predestined.

That makes no sense. Israel has a mighty military and one of the best security systems in the world. It can’t be that even with these, the numbers are growing every year.

No sense, had Israel decided that in now way is it to accept that the numbers should keep growing. But the captains of this country must take is a predestination.

If you look at threats, both old and new, then it’s obvious that only hard, decisive action which doesn’t compromise, doesn’t tremble at “what the world might say” – could stop the list from growing, or at least slow it down.

Israel is under more threat than ever before. Not armies with thousands of tanks are threatening it, but rather terror gangs such as Hamas in Gaza, and far away countries such as Iran, who continues to develop nuclear weapons and long range nuclear missiles.

The world loves to be cheated and it eating up Tehran’s stories. Only Israel can foil an attempt by Iran to hurt it.

Only Israel can prevent from the terrorism of Hamas, and soon perhaps ISIS, to kill and injure Israeli citizens. That’s why we need strong, decisive decisions. Should those be accepted, the means are there, ready to pound the enemy in a way which will go down in history as the “final blow”.

Iran continues to develop its nuclear capability, but no less worrisome is its ability to launch short range ballistic missiles.

The world, sunk in a coma, sees this and says something in a faint voice.

Sponsored by the billions of dollars received since most of sanctions were lifted following the signing of the bad joke called the “nuclear deal”, Iran funds the worst Islamic terror organizations in the world. It does so out in the open as it realized the world is stupid.

Take for example the aid to Hezbollah. Last week Arab sources claimed that the Israeli air force has attacked in Syrian territory a convoy transporting advanced weapon systems to Hezbollah in Lebanon.

But it is impossible to stop all weapon delivers to Hezbollah and other terror organizations.

So Tehran is signing deals with huge companies from the US and Europe while at the same continues to support radical Islamic terror. How bling world leaders are, how divorced from reality, or both.

Several television articles revealed the harassment that ultra-orthodox Jews who serve in the IDF  go through. This is very disturbing but nothing new. What’s bothering is the fact that those men are forced to deal with the threats themselves. One of them had to hire a private investigator, others have to take off their uniform when they reach their neighborhoods.

This protection should have been provided by the state. But like in other areas, such protection is not granted as no one really cares.

It’s a great shame that those ultra-orthodox Jews who decided to put on the military uniform are forces to fight daily for they own safety and that of their families without the country even lifting a finger.
