ZM Tarnów S.A has showcased its portable armored container called LOOK at the MSPO 2015 weapons exhibition in Poland. The LOOK container is designed to protect soldiers on observation and defensive missions during battle or in peace-keeping operations. The container can become a part of a larger protection system and even function autonomously.

The LOOK container is protected from small arms fire, it is also fitted with large bulletproof glass-panes. It includes remote-controlled weapons station and has an electro-optical system for observation, fit day-time and night-time, which combines a video camera, thermal imaging device, laser range-finder and a submachine gun or a 40mm grenade launcher.

Most importantly, each container can be equipped with a monitor station for observation and control for the watch commander, hooter/guard station, communications suite, bulletproof windows, roof hatch for manual operation of the weapons station, air conditioning/heating system and optional emergency power supply system.

The container can be used to protect important areas and objects, such as airports, military bases, logistics infrastructure of field camps. It can be used autonomously to create checkpoints, even in cases of foreign deployments.

The LOOK container was design to limit the casualty rate in case of the personnel which protects the military infrastructure. It  improves the conditions for detection, recognition and identification of the threats appearing in the area around the base and, of course, allows to option of eliminating the enemy with the use of the safe weapons station.

The IDF can surely find use in such a container for dealing with present and future threats, especially along the country’s borders, such as with turning all military posts in the border to armored stations. Let us hope this interesting project did not escape the security industry.
