Maj. General (ret.) Gershon Hacohen, in an interview following his talk in the Future Forces conference, talks about the needs, capabilities and technology of the Future Soldier.
To understand what the future might bring, he says, we must recognise the technology that is already here in order to understand the potential for the future.
Israel’s battle in Gaza has proven that although Israel has the upper hand, the other side has the ability to exploit their inferiority, such as making underground warfare into a complete system. The Human Factor will not be obselete in the future either, Hacohen says. The future soldier, however, will be even more skilled and talented and could get the most out of the technology available in the battlefield – a technology that is now not being exploited to its full potential.
