Elbit Systems announced today that it was awarded an approximately $45 million contract from a European country for the supply of military communications systems. The contract will be performed over a two-year period.

MCTR 7200HH_smallThe mobile communications systems, part of the CNR-9000 and HF-6000 product families, will be provided to a wide range of users, from the individual soldier to the division level, in dismounted and mounted configurations, for both medium and long-range distances. Tens of thousands of these systems are already in use by numerous armed forces around the world.

Yehuda (Udi) Vered, General Manager of Elbit Systems Land & C4I Division commented: “We are proud of this award, attesting to our communications systems cutting edge capabilities. There is a need for a reliable voice and data transfer in the modern battlefield, and the decision of this customer to equip its army with our systems reflects the recognition of the high quality and functionality of our communications products”.

In recent years, Elbit Systems has developed new and advanced generations of radio systems, with the MCTR-7200 at the forefront. These innovative tactical communications systems are software-based, multi-disciplinary and multi-channel. Exceptionally compact, the systems enable both the individual soldier and the vehicle to connect to the mobile network as well as to voice, data and video systems at extremely high speed.  This creates a portable military network with one multi-purpose product that is suitable for a wide range of complex scenarios and operational needs.

Using the PNR-1000 radio system (part of the MCTR-7200 family), the most advanced of its kind in the world, the individual soldier gains access to the mobile network and the command and control network infrastructure, enabling the soldier and vehicle to receive information from sensors deployed across the battlefield.  It also facilitates management of network battle processes with other forces and the  command, while maintaining compatibility with previous generations of radio systems (e.g. the CNR-9000).

This compact and lightweight personal radio is intended for widespread use in the modern battlefield and offers the soldier high-quality voice and broadband access to video and data. The PNR-1000 is a key component of the Smart Vest soldier program, recently selected by the Benelux  countries –  Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg.
