24877133_mIran continues to find ways to overcome the sanctions by operating through “Straw companies” in many countries.

Only recently such an operation has been uncovered by the U.S.

Intelligence supplied by Israel is the basis for the sanctions the U.S administration imposed on two aviation companies operating in Iraq and the UAE.

According to press reports in Iran, the U.S Treasury designated Iraq-based Al-Naser Airlines, and Sky Blue Bird Aviation in the United Arab Emirates, as aviation companies that acted in a way that violated the sanctions.

A long-standing ban on the export of aircraft spare parts to Iran was eased under an interim nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers in late 2013, but the sanctions regime continues to restrict sales of aircraft.

The U.S treasury froze property owned by Al-Naser Airlines and Sky Blue Bird Aviation and prevents U.S citizens from doing business with them.

According to the U.S treasury, Al-Naser Airlines had transferred at least eight Airbus A340 and one Airbus A320 aircraft to Mahan Air.

Mahan Air is also under the US sanctions as of Oct. 2011, after being accused of carrying weapons.

According to the Iranian press, Mahan Air rejected the U.S treasury allegations.

In recent years, according to the foreign press, Iran has transferred shipments of weapons to the Hezbollah terror organization in Lebanon. The Iranian aircraft landed in Syrian airports and from there the weapons were transferred to Lebanon. These reports claimed that Israel has performed a number of air attacks on convoys that carried the Iranian weapons.
