HLS NEEDS IGNITES “RADAR WAR” IN ISRAEL

MHR_tacticalThe growing demand for ground radars for homeland security missions has resulted in a competition between the major Israeli manufactures and some newcomers to the business.

Elta , the Israel aerospace subsidiary (IAI) has been for many years the “Radar house”, of Israel. Elta has developed some unique systems, that are operational all over the world.

Some years ago, Rada electronic industries , decided to get into the radar market , and is now offering a line of systems that are designed for homeland security missions.

RADA offers advanced Pulse Doppler, Multi-Mission, AESA Radars, which are software defined and can assume numerous operational missions and enable advanced force and border protection.

The Israeli company’s Multi-Mission Hemispheric Radar (MHR) family is designed for stationary and mobile use and is aimed at border protection applications.

The growing demand is especially focused on two types of radars – for borders and to protect major crucial installations that are exposed to areas that can allow covert approach of terrorists. These are mainly power stations and gas installations that are located on shores.

Rada plans to develop some more versions of radar systems for various applications.
