Rafael Acquires VisionMap’s Activities

Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. announced the completion of the acquisition of VisionMap’s activity and assets by the company.

Founded in 2004, VisionMap is considered a world leader in the development of airborne mapping, photography and imaging systems. It will be merged with the activities of Rafael’s aerial and intelligence systems division. VisionMap’s team will join Rafael as its employees.

Rafael is a Israeli and world leader in the development of electro-optic systems for applications in aerial teleprocessing, observation, intelligence, navigation and attack. Among its major systems are the Litening Pod, of which more than 1500 systems were sold around the world, the Rekalight Reccelite system and more.

According to Rafael, “The combination of the company’s team and the mapping technologies developed by them will help Rafael enhance and complete its electro-optic payloads line for applications on manned and unmanned aerial platforms,  and widen the array of the company’s systems in the intelligence, observation and surveillance and aerial mapping fields”.
