Orbit Technologies, which expertises in satellite communications, tracking systems and airborne communication and audio management systems, was awarded a continuation order from Israel’s Ministry of Defense for the supply of advanced communications systems, for NIS 14 million.

The order has been part of a long term agreement between Orbit and the Ministry of Defense for a wide range project managed mutually by the Ministry and the IDF. The order will be delivered during 2017-2018.

According to the company’s announcement, the Ministry of Defense has long been Orbit’s clients, and Orbit’s systems will play an important role in the project.

Orbit has been a global supplier of cutting edge mission-critical communication systems as well as commercial purposes for sea, ground, air and space applications. The company’s array of products includes mobile satellite communication systems, tracking and telemetry systems, communication management systems and earth observation systems, integrated in thousands of naval, airborne and ground platforms around the world.

In April this year, Orbit was awarded a comprehensive service contract for its ADAS communication management systems installed on the aerial refueling aircraft KC-135 Stratotankers used by US Air Force. Orbit will provide maintenance, repair and support services for its Airborne Digitally-Controlled Audio System (ADAS). Extending the operational lifetime of the KC-135 tankers required the extension of the service period related to these systems.
