Egozi’s Fury – Lacking Discipline and Spins

Egozi’s Fury – Lacking Discipline and Spins

Soldiers made the mistake of entering with their car to the Qalandia refugees camp, soldiers were attacked in guarding posts in the territories. They had no weapons on them and so probably did not put up a fight, but rather ran away. The IDF is investigating but even before the investigation it’s clear that something bad is happening to the discipline in the military.

Commanders have received their punishment but that doesn’t solve the real problem – the IDF discipline in many cases is taken as a recommendation.

In these last couple of incidents it didn’t cost soldiers their lives. But miracles don’t always work.

The military is up to its head with countless missions but discipline is the basis for the success of those missions. The army may march on its stomach but discipline saves lives.

Our leaders populism is record breaking. Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu has asked the attorney general for his opinion on deporting terrorists’ families to Gaza or Syria.

Sounds like a good idea, only Netanyahu knows full well that there is no way such a thing will be approved as it is against international law.

But the spin works and the headlines reported the Prime Minister’s “brave” step. But it’s all talk. Whatever they can do without the attorney general is not being done for fear of what “the world” might say.

We are fed up with spins. This wave of terror needs to be stopped, but for that we need leaders – and we have none of those, or even those resembling leaders.

Europe doesn’t even begin to understand what happened and is happening with the waves of refugees. True the large part of these waves are victims of insane wars, but the wide open gates in most of Europe and the lack of registration for hundreds of thousands is an opening for trouble. Counter-terror experts say that if there is a need for a united Europe, it is in intelligence, meant to counter terror by terrorists cells who have been strengthened by the waves of refugees.

But that doesn’t happen. Every country is trying to keep its cards close to its chest and there is no complete and full intelligence.

That, along with the freedom of movement between European countries, is a source for serious trouble. Everybody is talking about the danger but there is no joint effort to eliminate it.

Israel Katz is the minister of transportation and road safety. I’m guessing that when he is driving around in his office car, he doesn’t see that police presence on the roads is next to nonexistent.

After every deadly accident there are some voices heard about the situation but they quickly die out.

Had minister Katz done his job in the way he is expected to, he would have done anything to change the situation. To pave roads is great, but we must also bring about a situation where the casualties on them will be at their minimum.

So he is not doing enough, and neither is the minister for public security, Gilad Erdan.

There aren’t enough police cars, nor traffic officers. Road cameras are a source of income for the treasury but they don’t stop the road thugs who endanger all of us all the time.

They should stop addressing “the need”. We know what the need so. Instead they should do their jobs and go demonstrate at the chamber of the minister of finance himself, if they have do, until the money for it is found. This country is spending millions on things with coalitional justifications.

When it comes to human lives, the treasury remains closed.
