The new Israeli UAV manufacturer Meteor , has partially unveiled its “Impact” medium altitude long endurance (MALE) UAV.

The new UAV is dubbed “Impact” and has been developed by Meteor Aerospace that has been formed in 2013 . This privately owned company has operated so far in a very low profile mode.

Meteor Aerospace is the initiative of Itzhak Nissan  the company’s co-founder, Chairman and CEO. Nissan has worked many years at Israel’s largest UAV manufacturer , Israel aerospace industries (IAI) where he was president and CEO.

Nearly three years ago, Nissan stepped away from a long and successful career at IAI with a backlog of $10 Billion.

After leaving IAI, Nissan founded Meteor Aerospace together with Hezi Bezalel, an Israeli businessman who is well known in the defense business.

The company still works “Below the radar” but some details of its new product have been unveiled. Impact is  a MALE system that can carry a 150 kg payload.

It is powered by a 100 HP fuel injection engine . Endurance according to the company is over 24 hours.

Nissan refused to release additional details and only said that the company is currently developing two other UAV’s. “I can only say that one will be bigger than the Impact and the other one smaller,” He said.

Nissan said that the company has already secured orders for the “Impact” and other systems valued at $100 million. “We have options for additional $150 million”.

Negotiations with potential customers continue.

“Meteor” is also developing what is referred to as “innovative precision strike weapon systems”.
