Fast Draw – “Don’t Kill Me”

I heard her interviewing over the radio: “One of them opened the car door. I begged him not to kill me”. This sort of sentence should not be heard in Israel but it is being heard more and more. The terror is winning against the government’s incompetence that can only offer statements and no actions.

This morning Palestinians ambushed an Israeli driver on the road between Tekoa and Jerusalem, threw rocks at her and tried to take her out of her car. The driver, Rivi Lev Ohayon (38), has fled the scene. She was injured by stones and kicks all over her body and was taken by ambulance to Sha’are Zedek hospital. Her condition is stable. On top of this six more cars suffered damage from stones thrown at them.

And what does the government do? Decides on stationing security cameras and operation drones over the conflict areas. Another decision based on nothing made by the government whose under “protection” the current wave of terror continues and is even escalating.

Where did all those self-declared experts on war against terror experts go? Where is the Israeli resourcefulness? None of these are to be seen and the terror goes on intensifying. Cameras won’t help, neither will drones. Only tough actions in a number of areas will change this situation but the government does nothing but talk.

The government had suggestions on how to subdue this wave of terror brought to it, but all of them are bring “inspected by legal advisors”. A country which is being run by legal advisors has lost its war on terror from the start.
