Egozi’s Fury – Israel Is Not Prepared For Emergency

This post is also available in: heעברית (Hebrew)

The state comptroller of Israel didn’t have to work hard to find that the home front is not ready for any emergency scenarios whatsoever.

The comptroller, retired judge Yosef Shapira, published an extensive report last week on preparedness and readiness of the home front in states of emergency. The report reveals that even on a matter dealt with greatly for many years in the state of Israel, there are substantial faults that testify to the fact that at the next state of emergency, Israel could be caught off guard.

There is no minister in charge, there is no coordination between different offices, and there is no one in charge in the government. So many ministers but not one is making sure the home front is prepared. Things are getting worse each year. It sounds crazy that this should happen in a country that exists in an almost constant state of emergency, but with politicians like the ones we have, it’s really no surprise.

I don’t see how the Prime Minister and ministers considered serious (there are a few) can sleep at night. Things are very bad and no one cares – and if they care, it doesn’t show.

The comptroller’s report is already buried deep along with the ones that came before it.

We will all pay the price and it will be high.

Residents in several neighborhoods at the seams of Jerusalem are living under constant threat of Molotov bottles hitting their homes.

The police, which are meant to deal with this matter, is not doing so efficiently. Residents claim that they are abandoned and the fact is that these Molotov bottles being thrown are an almost daily occurrence.

Two trained snipers with night sights would have solved the problem after two people throwing Molotov bottles would have had they knees crushed. But Israel is a lot of talk and very little action – if at all.

Men in suits and women in tailored outfits have been discussing for several weeks now how to deal with the wave of refugees coming into Europe. They are confused and talking nonsense with no relation to reality.

How can people whose names have dignified titles attached not see thay Europe is finished? How can they not understand that under the blanket of these waves of refugees coming into the unified countries are hundreds of terrorists that are joining those already in European countries?

Europe’s helplessness is pathetic. There is a supposed union between countries of the continent and there are institutions in fancy buildings but there no two seniors who speak the same language. Confusion and helplessness. They cannot understand what is happening right in front of them.
