What Can We Expect From The Unmanned Vehicles Event?

What Can We Expect From The Unmanned Vehicles Event?

This post is also available in: heעברית (Hebrew)

Why  is this event different from similar events?

The main difference is the air, sea and land show. Israel is celebrating this year, as you know, fourty years for the Israeli UAV industry and we had to put together a very high-end event to show not only the products, but a sort of peak into the industry as a whole. For that, we had to coordinate with every aviation authority in Israel. This is in fact the only event in Israel, and one of the few in the world, which has a live demonstration of large UAVs used by security services. It’s a gigantic logistical mess with many people involved – mostly due to the small and crowded aerial territory in Israel – but we knew exactly how and where we want to do the event and everything worked out eventually. the LAGO events center, which was chosen to host the event this year, is the perfect place for us. The close and air-conditioned halls will be used for the conference and exhibition and the air show will take place in the large balcony of the complex, outside on the side of the lake.

How did we do it?

This is our third AUS&R event and we’ve learned many lessons from the two former events, on how to make each conference better than the last and each live demonstration more impressive than the last. We have a team of experts dealing with all aspects of the conference, exhibition and live demonstration. There are quite a few experts in Israel and we’ve been working alongside them for months now. It turned out especially well with the LAGO complex, since the the city of Rishon Letzion has been nothing but cooperative with us and the event and security wise, we’ve received all the permits and authorizations needed and closed the aerial territory above the city for the air demonstration. Demands were exceptionally high in light of the fact that we are celebrating an event to mark fourty years for the most advanced industry for unmanned vehicles and that’s no joke. I think that the event, the complex and all of the logistics involved serve perfectly the high standard needed for an event of this magnitude.

Who will be participating?

Many people from security industries are coming, of course, but also representatives of foreign security industries as well as from defense. And of course dozens of media crews are coming from Israel and abroad. Journalists registrations isn’t stopping and we already have a special team taking care of their requests for interviews. Of course many people are coming to the open live demonstration, but the professional conference, which has a fee and is for invited guests only,is creating major interest among experts in many industries – not just in unmanned systems, but also in the industry around it. Development engineers, project managers, acquisition managers, CEOs and investors, Start-Up companies, Hi-Tec companies, electronics and components companies – anyone in the technological trades directly or indirectly related to the field of robotics and unmanned systems find this event to be of interest. The overlap between different technologies today is so great sometimes that a specific subject, such as unmanned vehicles and robotics, is interesting to many – and those are the ones coming to the professional conference.

Who should come?

In today’s technological age, and especially with the super-advanced technology in Israel, I think it’s hard to find a field that can’t be related in some way to the event. Let’s take for examples the UAV. It involves, obviously, hardware and software but also sensors systems and payloads and technological components and visual technologies and information technologies which also call for information security systems and so on and so on. It’s connected to so many fields, both on the military level as well as civilian. Advanced technologies are no longer reserved for a specific sector and is leaking from the military to the business sector as well as the private one. It’s all connected.

Is this a national alternative for international events?

Without a doubt. The event is becoming a real alternative to events in the field taking place abroad. Sometimes people forget the fact that the most advanced technology in unmanned systems in in Israel. The knowledge is here, the audience is here and the foreign guests are already realizing that. The city of Rishon Letzion has been a great help to us since the very first event and sees it as an important mark in its plan to bring Hi-Tec industries to the west side of the city.
