Dogs have been used for law enforcement since the 14th century. The rapid urbanization of London in the 19th century caused a massive increase in law and disorder – a problem that was far too great to be dealt with by the existing law enforcement of the time. As a result private associations were formed to help combat crime. Night watchmen were employed to guard premises with many of these individuals provided with firearms and dogs to protect themselves from the criminal elements.

Police dogs are in widespread use across the United States. K-9 units are operated on the federal, state, county, and local level and are utilized for a wide variety of duties, similar to those of other nations. Although most Americans perceive these animals as attack dogs, their duties generally include drug, bomb, and weapon detection and cadaver searches.

Mayotex- Philcar, which is a leading Israeli company, developed variants of SWAT & K9 Vehicles carriers for the Israeli SWAT forces (“YAMM”) and many other police and law enforcement troops all over the world. The vast experience with Armoring & Modification of Special Tasks vehicles lead us to develop a 4×4 Toyota Land Cruiser modified to SWAT & K9 tactical carrier.

Accumulated knowledge and very intensive contacts with the End Users units are invested in these vehicles. You can find it in the small details of the product. The vehicle can carry 5 crew passengers and 4 trained dogs which can begin the operation in very short time after reaching the scene of action.

The dog’s kennels provide favorable conditions for the brave “soldiers on 4” without any possibility of injury. Each dog has air-conditioned special system with climate controlled by the crew commander. The purpose of the special A/C unit is to give the dog good conditions until arriving the event. We have learned the dog must be acclimated with the environment climate. Additionally, each dog kennel has drain point and lighting spot. The kennels are built with high temperature insulation and with anti-corrosive metals. Most of the materials are alloy to reduce weight and give the vehicle much better performance. As all police and HLS vehicles, these vehicles are equipped with police accessories such as Light Bar, siren and public address system and other needed equipment.
